Otto Appel

Otto joined Team Feniks in summer 2025.  Otto is rather shy, especially around men.  He was rescued by Lainey, and though we don’t know the details of his early puppyhood, there seems to have been some suffering due to the misbehaviors of his previous person.  Some people are just troubled and take it out on small creatures like Otto, who is a sweet boy.  He likes to play, and his aloof character makes him well suited to the role of personal assistant to the herder-goader Mort.  He has no difficulty jumping in and telling the rowdy boys to settle down when needed, though he likes to participate too up to a point.

Otto loves a tasty snack, and readily drops his anxious suspicions when a nibbly is offered.  If it’s a smelly tasty, all the better.  He’s looking forward to his first foray with the pack into the wild trail lands.  He still needs some time to get used to the way we do things at Feniks & Company, as folks who have had their freedoms too constrained tend to distrust environments which seem too free.  When unhappy chaos is growing-up normal, happy community feels abnormal and takes a bit of adjustment.
